Description
Tibetan Bronze Alloy Tripod Censer with Jade Inlay. The baluster body is supported on three lion-mask feet, decorated with scrolling Indian lotus, dragons, double fishes, and Buddhist treasure symbols, flanked by a pair of ruyi handles with rings, the tiered cover with a white jade finial carved as a seated Buddhist lion, above the neck decorated with a band of mythical beasts' head in high relief. Both sides are centered by oval-form carved openwork jade plaques and overall embellished with coral, turquoise beads, and white jade rings. {Height approximately 28 inches (71.1 cm)}. Condition: Heavy wear and patina, intensive losses in jade, coral, turquoise beads decorations. Ask the Asian Art Department for more information.
