Artist Biography
Tom Lacagnina received his BFA in 1970 and MFA in 1974 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. From 1969-1970 he worked as a studio assistant to Wendell Castle. He was the recipient of a Fulbright scholarship in 1975. From 2000-2022 he served as Professor Emeritus, School of Art and Design, New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred University, Alfred, New York. Through the 1980s and 90s his work was exhibited throughout the United States and shown at several prominent galleries. In 1990 he received a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship and in 1995 received the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship.
