Original illustrated hard boards [some wear]; large format [9.1/2" x 12.1/4"]; illustrated endpapers, frontispiece, 36 pages, 15 full-page illustrations, 15+ text illustrations, and Nativity - double page illustration, some foxing, some wear, and a few small page damages [see photos]; very good condition.

'Masha' is a pseudonym of one of the finest children book illustrators in the 1940s-60s, Masha [Simkovitch?]. According to some sources, she used several different pseudonyms. She is known to live and work in Milford, CT. Later, she moved to Florida. Despite her success as an artist and children book illustrator, she preferred to stay anonym, and it seems impossible to find much info on her biography and artistic career.
