AN AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINAL STYLE "BOOMERANG AND SHIELD" GLASS TOP IRON CENTER TABLE, LATE 20TH CENTURY, the modern circular glass top resting on a domed reddish-brown stained woven reed and stiffened leather inverted shield with black painted interior inclosing two Australian Aboriginal carved wood boomerangs painted in traditional colors with stylized kangaroos, animals, and a serpent, boomerang length: 21 1/4"; raised on a tapering blackened wrought iron base with vertical reticulated rows of lozenge form decoration and partitioned by square form legs ending as upturned feet. Height: 18 5/8" Diameter: 30 1/2"
Condition
The shield exhibiting expected light scratches and wear, while the base has expected minor scratches, wear, and small patches of light surface rust. The glass top has some small scratches from use.
