Description
PAUL JACOULET (French/Japanese 1902-1960) A PRINT, "Les Jades, Chinoise," 1940, woodblock printed in colors on paper, signed in pencil C/R, "Paul Jacoulet," with the boat seal, seals of the carver, Kentaro Maeda, and the printer, Yoshizo Onotera, in L/R margin, titled in typewriter L/R, "Les Jades 'Chinose'," numbered in red stamp on verso, "No 136/250"; 18 3/4'' x 14 1/4'', unframed.
Condition
There is severe light stain resulting in discoloration of the sheet and fading of the colors, two small holes in left margin, old hinges at corners on verso, a 1 inch tear at upper right corner in the margin, and a small loss at lower right corner. There are other small losses in the margins. There are old pencil dimension notations in the lower margin. Sheet is very brittle.
