Cased Set of Edwardian Sterling Silver Sauceboats and Ladles
hallmarked Birmingham (sauceboats) and Sheffield (ladles), 1910-1911, by Asprey & Co., the sauceboats in the George II taste, with serpentine-shaped rim, crested double "C"-scroll handle and raised on three pad feet, engraved with the crest and motto of Price of Trengwainton, l. 5-3/4", w. 3-3/4", the ladles with hemispherical bowl and plain spatulate handle, l. 5-1/4", all presented in the original fitted cream satin- and velvet-lined black leather case, the lid gilt-stamped "Asprey & Co. Ltd.", h. 3-3/4", w. 11-3/4", d. 6".

Condition
**Both sauceboats have a compression dent on the body where it meets one of the feet: one on the front foot, the other on a rear foot. Both boats also have two 3/8" vertical splits on the rim at the nadir of two of the serpentine shapes. Scattered pinpoint dents, scuffs and scrapes on all pieces. All pieces fully hallmarked. The case is in fair condition, with exterior scuffs, scrapes and losses, and the upper latches each missing one of the retaining pins. The interior is soiled and the retaining elastic straps for the ladles are broken.
