This lot consists of hand painted original oil on canvas dated to the 18th-19th century. The lot depicts the portrait of a important female done by the important Austrian painter Adalbert Suchy.His paintings has been auctioned in important auction houses worldwide including Sotheby's,Christie's,Dorotheum,Bonhams Etcs.

Adalbert Suchy ( Czech ) (* around 1783 in Klattau ; August 25, 1849 in Vienna ) was a Bohemian miniaturist .

He began his drawing lessons with Jacob Matthias Schmutzer and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1802 , where he was awarded the Gundel Prize in 1806. After his studies he worked in Vienna.

His earliest miniature ("Portrait of a French officer serving in the Austrian army") dates from 1806. In addition to portrait miniatures, he also created pastel paintings.

His works show the influence of Lorenz Grünbaum (1791 - after 1830), Josef Lanzedelly the Elder (1772-1831) and Bernhard von Guérard (1780-1836).Adalbert Suchy portrayed Johann Strauss (father) and Adalbert Stifter , among others .His daughter was the painter Maria Antonia Suchy .
