Description
(R) "Grain painting," or "graining" was a process by which wood-grain patterns were painted onto commonly available woods to give them the look of much more expensive woods. This process, a tedious and skillful endeavor, served as a precursor to later use of laminates and veneers in the 20th century. This chest is in wonderful condition for its age with some light wear. The lid has a joint separation leaving a narrow gap on the top of the chest. It comes with a set of the original keys to the lock. Measures 49.5inW x 22.5inD x 22.5inH. Global shipping available on all items. For a shipping quote, call Mail Dock at (717) 274-6600.
