Description
1907 FASHION ART 1ed Harrison Fisher Dream Women Bachelor Belles Cosmopolitan
Two rare, first edition beautifully illustrated portfolios by American illustrator Harrison Fisher. Both illustrated works, A Dream of Fair Women and Bachelor Belles each contain a collection of American poetry accompanied by Fishers detailed, romantic color paintings.
Harrison Fisher, the “Historian of American Beauty,” was an American illustrator whose works regularly appeared on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in the early 20th-century.
“At the top of the heap stands Harrison Fisher, creator of the Fisher Girl and most popular of all Americans who ply brush and pencil for reproduction. By reason of his industry and because of the uniform soundness of his drawings and color sense, he is the acknowledged master of the pretty girl picture” (Cosmopolitan).
