Schleissner Söhne, Hanau (wohl)
Hinged historicism biscuit tin. Circa 1850-1900. Silver, partially gilded. H. 22 cm, D. ca. 16 cm, unfolded D. ca. 26 cm. Ovoid form composed of three shell-like, relief-decorated ornamented shell elements in a three-ray mount with trimming of small putti. Three-part vessel can be opened by pulling the small handles, so that the walls open to form bowls with a grid-like ornamented cover, which is locked to the bowl with small eyelets. Marked on the bottom: crescent, crown, 800 and two other indistinct hallmarks.
