François Barrême (1638-1703), considered one of the founders of accounting, served in the Paris Chamber of Accounts and as ordinary arithmetician of the King. He is the author of works of practical mathematical tables, intended to avoid tedious calculations in the field of money. This ledger of accounts, very often re-edited, and later known as the Universal Scale, is one of the founding works of accounting. Two bookplates.
