Title: Marvel SECRET WARS Lunchbox and Thermos * Tag Still Attached
Place Published:
Publisher:Aladdin Industries
Date Published: [1984]
Description:
Metal lunchbox with embossed figures of Spidey, Cap, Iron Man, Doc Ock, and Dr. Doom. Includes plastic thermos bottle decorated with Cap, Spidey and the Hulk. The original manufacturer's string tag is still affixed, with weirdly anachronistic graphics that looked dated even in 1984. A few small color rubs to edges, otherwise excellent, unused condition.
Mom's baloney sandwiches always tasted better out of a Secret Wars lunchbox. This one is unused, complete with minty thermos bottle untainted by '80s Ovaltine or Tang. Marvel's Secret Wars was Jim Shooter's launchpad for an anticipated licensing bonanza that never quite materialized. In exchange for its breadwinning superheroes' narrative integrity, Marvel got a fistful of crudely-articulated Secret Wars action figures from Mattel, and some ancillary items including vehicles, playsets, gumball dispensers, coloring books, and this lunchbox.
