Description
The carved utensil of unknown origin is configured as if for left-handed use, the handle is etched with avian features to enhance the form itself and bears initials in the style of other treen examples circa the year 1800.
Measures 7.25 x 4.5 inches.
Provenance: The 40 year collection of Father Tom Wiederholt, Kansas City, Missouri. Tom was a close personal friend of scholar and curator Ralph 'Ted' Coe who advised Tom on most of his acquisitions.
