Description
Important ( The Late ) June Frazier Johnston Folk Art Painting. A local Watkinsville Georgia resident and born in North Florida a outstanding folk artist. This piece is a true testament to her caliber of her works from her creative background. She was a graduate of Georgia State University also Graduate School at Florida State University & also studying at Appalachian State University, Berry College also the Greenville Museum of Art. Her career as a painter was lengthy and very successful and in the mid 80's her style shifted dramatically. Her pieces are from graphically inspired dreams, the scenes from moments also in her life or symbol-laden depictions of folks she knew or created. Her works are in Collections of the Corporate World including Citicorp, Delta Airlines, IBM, University of Georgia, Tupperware World Headquarters, Ford Motor Company, Texaco Oil Company, Bamett Bank, Home Federal Savings & Loan Company and many others. The exhibitions are outstanding from Florida State Museum, Cincinnati Museum of Natural History, Ashville Museum, Quinlan Art Center, Greenville Institute of Technology, Bender Fine Art Gallery. The Juried Shows list is impeccable from Louisiana Watercolor Society, New Mexico Water Color Society, just to name a few. These are once in a lifetime opportunity to own such historic works of folk Art. This example is stellar and is in the catalog that will accompany this folk art painting titled Ruth which is a very powerful painting that shows a widow with her two children burying her husband form service with the folded American flag which definitely speak volumes to us as our Armed Service Members mean the world to USA and to we know many who have given the Ultimate Sacrifice for our great country. Painting is noted on page 13 of the book and is a acrylic painting 48 1/2" Wide x 55 1/2" Tall Frame to Frame. Also note the painting on the back side of the board is outstanding, we just noticed this when photographing the back I saw the colors and peeled back the brown paper and was floored with this great painting. This is one that did not make the cut to her standards but is noted in her book page 12 titled Mike a Veteran and this is the artist first reindentation of the painting and this is a outstanding piece in both works. A true one of a kind piece.
