Chippendale mahogany, slant front ox bow desk. Massachusetts, ca. 1786. Rectangular top above slant front opening fitted interior with cubby holes and small drawers, over four thumb nail molded graduated ox bow drawers, raised on ball and claw feet. Height 44", width 41", depth 24". Provenance: Max Israel, Henniker, New Hampshire, passed through his family to the present owner.

With three cracks on the slant front. A chip to the right slant front cover just inside the molded edge. Two ink stains on the top. Nicks on the interior writing surface. Nicks on the horizontal divides between the drawers on the front of the case. The lower molded edge is missing from the back left foot.
