A QIANLONG MARK FLOWER BASKET SNUFF BOTTLE
Chinese, 19th-early 20th century. Enameled on a pale 'jade-like' slightly opaque glass, a finely handled basket of peony, peach blossoms, asters, and chrysanthemum under a meandering patterned neck, and an oval ring foot rim underside with a blue four character Qianlong mark.
Literature: A documented example of an earlier yet similar bottle with Guyue Xuan mark, (which was attributed to Palace Workshops Beijing, and probably Imperial) can be found illustrated (pgs. 342-343) figure 200 in "The Art of the Snuff Bottle / The J&J Collection" Volume 1 by Hugh Moss, Victor Graham, Ka Bo Tsang; published by Weatherhill Inc. New York/Tokyo Copyright Hugh Moss, 1993.
