Chinese Export Armorial Porcelain Covered Soup Tureen
Late 18th/early 19th century
of octagonal form with foo dog knop and boar's head handles, the armorial with banner inscribed "NIL SPERNO MIROR METUO." Height 8 1/2 inches, length 13 1/2 inches, depth 9 inches.
Note: The Latin phrase found on this crest relates to fearlessness. The motto and the unicorn head are associated with the Daniell family.
