Rare three-piece Claremont coffee set with toadstools and overlay

coffee pot: 9.625 h x 7.375 w x 4.125 d in (24 x 19 x 10 cm)

Lot is comprised of covered coffee pot, covered sugar bowl and creamer. Ink-stamped red registry number to underside of each example 'Rd No 420081'. Painted green signature to underside of two examples 'W. Moorcroft' and further inscription to one of the examples 'Shreve Company San Francisco'. Incised inscription to underside of another example 'Shreve Company San Francisco'.

Literature: Moorcroft: A Guide to Moorcroft Pottery 1897-1990, Atterbury, pg. 72 illustrates similar Claremont overlay articles

This work will ship from Chicago, Illinois.

Condition

Faint crazing to creamer and sugar bowl. Coffee pot shows overall dark crazing, most likely a result of the electroplating process. Small missing piece of silver on the creamer. Silver with some surface scratches typical of age, use and polishing, along with some tarnish. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
