Description
A Nasca human effigy vessel with black and white dot headband. The figure wears a necklace with an orange red rectangular-form pendant. The arms are presented akimbo and a black band encircles the vessel. The nose is broad and pronounced, while the eyes are oval-shaped and small. Ceramic slipped. 200 BCE to 600 CE. Peru. 10 3/4" x 9 1/4".Condition: Good, with nicks, abrasions, and scratches with some surface loss.Provenance: From the Boeckman Collection. Dallas, Texas. Acquired 5/4/1970. From the collection of Buster May. From the collection of the Denver Art Museum.
