Two Sterling Chocolate Pots, with wooden handles, the taller marked Sterling and Shreve, Crump and Low, #56; the shorter English, possibly by Harrison and Hipwood, Taller- H.- 5 3/4 in., W.- 4 in., D.- 6 3/4 in. Wt. with handles-14.01 Troy Oz. Provenance: The Estate of noted Antiquarian Merrit M. Shilg (1908-1978), Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Condition
These are charming examples with very minimal signs of wear.
Curved Spout Example: Hinge is very strong. There are no dents, abnormal scratches, or loose elements. There are normal, small signs of use and age like light surface scratches.
Straight Spout Example: Hinge is a bit looser but intact. There are some dents where the handle is attached to the silver, and the handle has a bit of give. There are small dents in the knob on the lid, as well as a minor dent in the center of the back. ________________________________________________________________________________
