Baogong Bureau was a bureau of money casting in Gansu Province in the Qing Dynasty, formerly known as Gongchang Bureau. In the fifth year of Yongzheng (1727), it was moved to Lanzhou and renamed Baogong Bureau. Two years later, it was stopped and abandoned. In the fourth year of Xianfeng (1854), it was reopened again, first establishing a bureau in Xiaocang, and then opening a new factory in the eastern wall of the provincial capital. Therefore, with the exception of Qianlong and Jiaqing, the sum of "Gong" was less in all the previous dynasties.
During the reign of Xianfeng, Baogong Bureau cast money in a variety of ways, with unique patterns and techniques, which made it unique among the northern money bureaues. There are quite a lot of treasures cast by GONGgong Bureau, among which the most eye-catching products are Baogong D500 and D1000, which are the bright pearl in the big money of Xianfeng. For details about the casting of the big money of Baogon Bureau, please refer to the documents issued at that time. On June 16, the fourth year of Xianfeng, Yi Tang, governor of Shaanxi and Gansu Province, wrote to the court: "Now all kinds of big money have been cast, including more than 4,000 strings of brass, which should be ten, fifty, and one hundred. But when five hundred, when a thousand copper money, there is still too much obstacles." It can be seen that when the Treasure was rich in five hundred and one thousand copper, the casting process was blocked at the beginning, so it was not long in operation, the circulation was not wide, and the casting number was naturally very few. Up to now, it is very rare.
