Jane Teiko Oka (American) Abstract, Original. Jane Teiko Oka was a San Francisco Art Institute graduate and a Fulbright Scholar. Working in San Francisco from the 1950's she was recognized as a fine artist and a graphic designer. Her posterdesigns came to symbolizethe art of the 1960's and 70's, like her poster from "12 signs of the Zodiac" series featured in Woody Allen Move Sleeper. Jane herself witnessed her influence in popular culture when she saw a Volkswagon hippiebus drive by with her Virgo poster design painted on it. Her graphic design work was published by Patterson & Hall and Portal Publications. Her many clients included Japan Airlines. She illustrated covers for San Francisco Magazine.2She was constantly creating in a wide range of media.
