Description
An antique French commemorative medal for the 1901 China expedition, a military campaign that occured during the Boxer Rebellion. The obverse bears a profile of a woman in helmet adorned by a crown of oak and laurel leaves. The reverse bears a pagoda surrounded with military and naval articles or war. The suspension loop is adorned with two Chinese dragons. The medal hangs from a silk moire yellow and green striped ribbon.The medal is framed together with an engraved certificate. The engraving depicts a personification of victory and French officers. Issued for Francois Joseph Lefievre. Militaria, Coins And Medals, Historical Collectbles.
