The effigy club affixed with a paper tag inscribed: Rec. 9/10/23 Mohawk carved effigy war club. Pur. from Mrs. Tilly Taylor - 80 yrs. old - belonged to her grandfather - 100 yrs. old. / Caughnawaga P. of Q. Canada
See packing list from lot 36 for notes on the spiked club: Sort of a war club made from a tree limb with 5 points at end. Note how bark has been peeled off except at end where the bark appears almost like a leather binding (and at top surrounding points). Then there are incised designs on the handle. Either Huron or Abenaki - gift for Roy for Xmas from Richard St. Amand

Each a bit dry, with scattered scratches, scuffs and general wear commensurate with age. Effigy club with a couple of spots of residue from storage in newspaper. A handful of whitish spots on the spiked club as well.
