A George III Irish provincial silver sauceboat
Carden Terry, Cork, circa 1770
Oval form with wavy rim, leaf-capped scroll handle with ornate scroll junction joining the rim, plain sides with engraved crest, associated with the family of LEE, on three lion mask and paw feet, length 17cm, weight 6.7oz.

The crest is associated with the family of LEE.
A likely owner of the crest is to be a John LEE of Londonderry, Ireland formerly of Patna, East Indies, or his only son Rear Admiral Richard LEE (1765-1837) a person of some repute, who joined the Royal Navy aged 12 years in 1777 as a midshipman who later went on to serve in the American Revolutionary War, the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars.
