Pair of 19th Century Chinese Zitan wood barrel shaped stools, carved in cylindrical form, swelled in the belly region, with flat round top. The molding is richly inscribed with vine like tendrils and organic patterns. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The fine surface of the wood grain has a beautiful glow as the light is reflected.

Over all in EXCELLENT condition, with normal anomalies in nature, natural wood imperfection, sign of stressed surface, minor scratch & dent; Normal consider ages and wears.
