Six woven baskets, comprising four Cherokee river cane baskets: (1) tall gathering basket, (2) square double sided baskets in twill plait, and (1) fanner basket with a braided rim, these came with information regarding weaver Alice Walkingstick and may be attributed to her, together with an Asian style circular basket sieve and a likely Asian lidded coiled and reed wrapped basket containing vintage and antique sewing paraphernalia, including a carved tiger maple sock darner, a carved wood acorn thread waxer with wax, a pair of German stork sewing scissors in a basketry sheath, (2) celluloid tatting shuttles and a bone paper folder. Gathering basket approx, h. 13.75", dia. 10"; sewing basket h. 2.5", w. 7", d. 4.5."
Condition
Overall good. No holes or losses. Color fading on the gathering basket, wear to the rim of the sieve.
