Josef Hoffmann (Austrian 1870-1956) for Wittmann (Austrian), pair of "Purkersdorf" chairs, having a white painted cubic shaped beach frame, geometric patterned cushions, and black and white woven seat, gilt copper makers mark "Hoffman made by Wittmann Austria" to underside. Note: the original arm chair was designed in 1903 and placed in the entrance hall of Purkersdorf sanatorium. Note: Accompanied by receipt. Approx. h. 27.25", w. 24", d. 24", seat h. 16.5".

Condition

Few scattered scuffs -- not distracting, no apparent soiling to woven seat or pillows. Structurally stable.
