Description
Antique Meissen Bisque Figure of Lady Throwing Knucklebones. The motif of the seated young girl dates back to a late Hellenistic model, which in the Roman version, was supplemented by the game gesture. The knucklebones (astragalus) game are often also depicted on funerary reliefs. The mark is Meissen's crossed swords in a triangle impressed mark they used exclusively to mark their Parian style undecorated finish (aka, biskuit, bisque or biscuit).
