Description
A New England Queen Anne tiger maple mule chest, mid 18th century, the molded lift top enclosing two large open compartments, having two drawers below, raised on bracket feet.

Condition
The chest is structurally sound. The surface has been skinned. The pine top appears to retain its original cotter pins. The sides with minor vertical age cracks and top with shrinkage and age cracks. The brass hardware is later, the drawer fronts with vacant holes from earlier and later hardware. The drawer sides are constructed with wedge dovetails and rosehead nails to the bottoms. The lift top interior is covered with old handwritten documents. Typical dings, dents, surface scratches and small losses overall. With key.
