Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A beautiful pendant comprised of modern sterling silver set with a triangular fragment of Roman glass, a faceted white topaz stone, and a Roman copper coin. The glass fragment features rounded corners, rainbow iridescence visible along the verso, and a stunning turquoise hue that is visible even without the aid of a bright light source. Above one corner of the glass fragment is a faceted white topaz stone that glints in the light, and above that is a circular Roman copper coin depicting a woman with one hand atop the head of a kneeling man or child.
