WASHINGTON, DC RETAILED GORHAM "MEDALLION" STERLING SILVER PIE SERVER, pattern designed by George Wilkinson in 1864, pointed oval blade with floral and shell engraved decoration on a flared handle having a medallion at tip featuring a bust of a Classical-style man. Back with the three Gorham pseudo hallmarks, "STERLING" and "PAT. 1864" marks, and a retailer's mark for M.W. Galt & Bro. of Washington, DC (1847-1871). Total weight: 2.750 ozt. Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI. Third quarter 19th century. 9 1/2" LOA.

Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, a minor dent to tip of blade, minor worn spots to engraved and raised decoration.
