A FINE LATE 18TH CENTURY MAHOGANY FUSEE TABLE CLOCK BY JOHN LEVENS OF LONDON

the George III period bracket clock in the style of Mudge & Dutton, with break-arch case surmounted by a single pad with brass handle over, the sides with brass reticulated sound frets, over a plinth base and four brass bracket feet, the arched brass dial with gilt pierced, Rococo style spandrels, the silvered dial with Roman numerals, signed 'John Levens LONDON', with subsidiary dials to the arch for strike / silent and rise and fall regulation, the anchor escapement striking on a bell, the backplate ornately engraved with a vase of flowers flanked by scrolling acanthus leaves and a lambrequin border, the pendulum similarly engraved, with winder,
