Description

An archive of material printed in German-occupied territory during WWII â€“ primarily related to the German occupation of the Channel Islands. The lot includes a broadside which was issued by the Germans during their occupation of Jersey; the proclamation is printed (in Jersey) in German and English and was issued on D-Day: Reads in part, "Germany's enemy is on the point of attacking French soil" and threatens the execution of anyone who attacks the German forces. *** Also included are two pro-German broadsides in French (probably printed in German-occupied Paris, or possibly air-dropped), along with 17 newspapers all from the WWII period (all printed in Jersey.) Broadsides large 4to leaves, newspapers large folios.
