John Abbot (1751 - 1839), Two Hand Colored Engravings, from the Natural History of the Rare Lepidopterous Insects of Georgia, published by Edward Smith (1759 - 1828), comprising an untitled and unnumbered work with branch, brown spotted caterpillar, red cocoon, and brown and red moth, and 'Phalana Imperatoria/Platanus Occidentalis' with branch, hairry caterpillar, cocoon, and bright yellow and pink moth with associated manuscript page on verso, both French matted and framed. Frame size: 26 1/2 in. x 22 1/4 in.Measurements: Height: by sight 15 1/4 in. x Width: 12 in.
Condition
Good condition, toning, some minor foxing, particularly on Phalana print, both with slightly wavy paper, not viewed out of frames.
