Description
The Griswold Mfg. Co. made this machine for the Red Star Sanitary Vending Machine Co. of Davenport Iowa, c. 1914. Another classic cast iron peanut machine with flared globe and unusual dial operated coin entry. Each nickel gives you two cranks. This example has the variation of a round base as opposed to feet, and it is in an old re-paint with all original parts and a Griswold globe. CONDITION: The paint is worn with areas of oxidation, and the cast iron has moderate pitting that has been stabilized. A very collectable large globe peanut machine and a difficult one to find. Pictured in "Silent Salesman Too" by Bill Enes, page 68. This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made. Condition: (Good). Dimensions: 18 - 1/2" x 8" x 8".
