It has an elongated body resembling the long body Yuan Meiping. The thick and very heavy body is made of coarse and very hard clay. The glaze is grayish and has totally lost the shine of newly fired porcelain, due to 800 years of aging. The underglaze cobalt blue is dull, buried deep under the glaze, and sometimes sunk into the clay body to form blackish-brown, rusty crystals. The circular foot rim is cut almost flat. The outer-base has intense kiln-red, the orange color formed by iron oxide during firing. The dragon motif is common for Yuan wares. But this one is exceptionally vigorous, ferocious, and animated, painted with very good flowing brush artwork. A ring of upward lotus petal decorates near the foot, with each petal separated from others. All these are unique Yuan features, some of them are unique for mid-Yuan only. From Dr. Robert I-San Lin (#1567), 86-year old senior Chinese artwork appraiser appointed by China Commission on Artwork Authentication, whose grandfather was a major Chinese antique collector/dealer in early 1900s. 元中期青花雲龍紋傘口瓶。傘口瓶在瓷史上極稀有，主要出現於元中期，目前所知的數件元傘口瓶都在歐洲大博物館中。20 世紀早中期一些文獻也曾記載。由於稀有故甚珍貴。此瓶形還算工整，屬於元朝的瘦長的梅瓶型，只是口如傘。胎粗厚，堅硬,甚重，是典型元胎。圈足，足端近於平切。外底有��橙色火石紅，並有糊塗釉一片。這些都是元瓷特色。釉帶灰青,欠平勻，並有許多棕眼窯楂，是元中期瓷常見的。青花暈散灰藍色，不要飄浮，濃處陷入胎骨並有黑褐晶斑，也是元中期特徵。雲龍草率，但龍生動傳神且匈猛，是典型元龍。
