It is embroidered with wool yarns in two shades of blue; the design is regularly spaced, but separate, floral stems alternating with eight-lobed motifs. At top center is embroidered "1828 / H L," with the initials each within a circle, the lower corners of the blanket are rounded, as is common with bed rugs, the top edge is bound with calico; the sides and bottom are edged with two-tone blue wool fringe, the blanket is also seamed near the side edges, the selvage-to-selvage width of the two center panels is about 37 inches, very good condition: small hole near top center and another in lower left quadrant; 88" l x 87" w.
