TEXTILES: Pieced cotton quilt, c. 1830s, signed in ink on the back, "Eliza Howard", with a design of variable star (8 points with square center) in shades of brown, blue, and red), alternating with a plain white block in a straight set., there are 113 star blocks, the outer border is composed of triangles in a small red dot pattern, the quilt is densely and finely quilted in white thread, mostly in parallel diagonal lines, the binding is composed of the red dot calico on the straight grain, 112" x 116".
