Description
The lot features a hairpipe and beaded breastplate from the Sioux Indians dating to circa 1950's. The breast plate or breastplate consist of cotton trade thread sewing with tanned hide leather gaskets strung with hairpipe / hair pipe beads as well as Czechoslovakian bugle beads in cobalt, green, and amber. The hair pipe beads are made from a wood or reed like material. Along the bottom are red and green dyed wood ball beads. Provenance: From a large collection of Native American Antiquities in Billings, Montana where it was found to be an authentic Crow example. Measures overall 31”L.
