Description
Roman, Great Britain, Romano-British, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A set of 2 prick spurs from ancient Roman-controlled Britain, one of iron and the other of bronze. The petite bronze example has thick lateral buttons and a minimal spike while the larger iron example has broad buttons and a larger spike. Both display nice layers of patina that have formed over hundreds of years. Size of largest (iron): 1.5" L x 2.625" W (3.8 cm x 6.7 cm)
Provenance: private Denver, Colorado, USA collection, acquired in the 1960's

Condition
Both spurs have minor earthen deposits and small nicks, otherwise intact and very good. Nice patina throughout.
