Description
Herrin is best known as a portrait artist and an autograph collector. He would make small portraits of famous people and have them autograph the art. This lot includes (5) original pencil portraits including H. B. Warner, C. Aubrey Smith, MayRobson, Carrie Jacobs-Bond, and Carrie Chapman Catt who was an extremely important women's suffrage leader, and campaigned for the 19th Amendment to US Constitution, whcih gave U.S. women the right to vote in 1920. She served aspresident of the National American Woman Suffrage Association from 1900 to 1904 and 1915 to 1920. She founded the League of Women Voters in 1920 and the International Woman Suffrage Alliance in 1904. Overall size on each approx. 9" x 12"
