Description
Viennese Secession silverplate and glass basket for flowers or sweets, with full marks of Argentor-Werke Rust & Hetzel, Vienna, struck to underside, the arched and reticulated handle with geometric designs, the round glass insert supported by a reticularted gallery on four bullet feet, 7.25" H x 6" diameter Note: Argentor-Werke Rust & Hetzel was established in 1902, and managed by G.F. Rust and A.W. Hetzel became one of the most important metalware manufacturers of the Viennese Art Nouveau / Secession movement. Works included included silver cutlery, bowls, centerpieces, tea and coffee services, as well as frames, clocks, electric lamps, vases and flower holders.
