This work contains a portrait frontispiece of King Kamehameha V, facsimile reproduction of of the 4 page manuscript letter to Thomas Nettleship Staley, first Anglican Bishop of Honolulu, and a historical sketch by Dutton on The Reciprocity Treaty of 1867 that failed to be ratified by the United States Senate due to objections by annexationists. An uncommon work of Hawaiian history.
