A hanging scroll in ink and light color on silk of a naturalistically-depicted Jinmu, the legendary first emperor of Japan, wearing armor, a magatama-beaded necklace around his neck, a quiver of arrows behind his shoulder and a sword and scabbard slung on his hip, his footwear made of fur, signed Itō Hikozō and sealed Itō Hikozō and another seal
With an unassociated wood storage box

Itō Hikozō was the student of Hashimoto Kansetsu (1883-1945), and was well known for illustrations in various publications and graphic novels, as well as ball-point pen illustrations.
