Quarter plate tintype of seated waist up view of early war Confederate soldier. Bearded soldier wears battle shirt and kepi displaying wreath with letters "R R". Subject is also wearing tongue and wreath belt and buckle with eagle design and sash. Soldier cradles Boyle & Gamble foot officers sword with "V" guard. On subject's battle shirt in button line is Masonic symbol. Image exhibits some extremely light bubbling to emulsion and some extremely light diagonal scratches to chest area of subject. Image exhibits good tones. Image is housed in geometric union case. Provenance: Gary Wolfer collection.
