Description

Two George V silver mounted jewellery/trinket boxes, one of tapered, oval form with vertical engine turned decoration to lid, enclosing circular panel to centre, upon four shell mounted hoof feet, hallmarked Henry Williamson Ltd, Birmingham 1919, length 4.5" (11.3cm), the other with reeded border to shaped rim, hallmarked Adie Brothers, Birmingham 1922. Together with a Dutch silver casket, with panelled scene of horseback figure to hinged lid, and similar figural scenes to main body, hallmarked with 1853-1953 lion passant and key Dutch export mark, length 3.25" (8.5cm). (3)

Condition Report:

Items all with general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.

Hinged lid to tapered, oval example shows several surface dints.

Material interior is unstable and becoming detached, and can be moved from under base.

Hallmarks are clear and legible.

Example with reeded border shows some considerable bashes to the hinged lid, some creasing and nicks to body. and a considerable bash to silver at base.

Feet are misshapen and bent.

Hallmarks are rubbed, especially maker's mark.

Dutch casket shows loss to decoration definition through out.

Some polish residue is evident to rim of hinged lid.

Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
