A FAMILLE-ROSE PORCELAIN SEATED GUANYIN
Qing dynasty, 19th century
Finely modeled and painted with pastel colors, the Goddess of Mercy seated on an oval platform with one knee up, wearing voluminous robes and holding a scroll in the left hand, long strings of beaded necklace at the chest, the long cowl and collar painted in gilt framing the face of contemplation, a square opening on the back for placing ritual objects.
