Of ovoid form with rounded shoulders and a cylindrical neck and with a neatly carved oval foot, well-hollowed, the stone of a vivid green tone with apple-green streaks; stopper.

It was towards the end of the eighteenth century that high quality jadeite was imported into China in any decent quantity. Initially the Chinese traders brought it directly across the Burmese border, although after 1780 supplies became dependable via regular traffic through Guangzhou.

Excellent condition with concave mouth rim and a small, well-balanced aperture.
