attributed to Silas Rice school, probably Wallingford, Connecticut, 1790-1810, removable broken arch pediment with double fan carved tympanum and fretwork cartouche, over tombstone paneled door cabinet flanked by inset fluted quarter columns, lower case with fitted desk interior with four long drawers, set on ogee bracket feet, original brasses, 89 x 42-1/2 x 23-1/2 in.

good condition overall, probably original fretwork ornament with breaks, repairs, and later bracing at back, central plinth with break and repair, (appliques at front of plinth possibly restored), original feet and most blocking with scattered minor breaks and repairs (later brace at back brackets), some cracks to fall board with minor infill, some spots of discoloration at feet, other typical surface wear and minor repairs
